The name stems from the Domdechant (Dean) of the Archbishopric of Mainz, who used to own a great deal of this land. But this is not the only reason that this vineyard is deemed the Aristocrat of Vineyards.
The gentle curving incline below the church not only has fertile strength in its soil, its Riesling wines are also voluptuous, full-bodied, with a lingering finish – yet also with a velvety, elegant spirit.
